During 2024 Proeon Systems Ltd. has had the opportunity, as members of the EIC (Energy Industries Council), to participate in this year's edition of #Survive and #Thrive process.  A global initiative from the #EIC sharing success stories and encouraging collaboration to address the challenges faced by businesses in driving the energy transition.

Culminating in the EIC (Energy Industries Council)’s National Awards 2024 on 10 October. We were thrilled that our contribution has resulted in us being shortlisted as finalists in two categories:

The EIC (Energy Industries Council) National Awards evening will take place on Thursday 10 October in central London. All EIC (Energy Industries Council) category finalists have been chosen by a remote judging panel, tasked with scoring each entry against a series of pre-set questions. 👀 Watch this space for an update.

Proeon systems is responsible for the engineering design, supply, installation and integration of electrical control systems in the offshore high voltage substation for Hollandse Kust West. This substation connects Ecowende’s wind farm to TenneT’s offshore grid. roeon share Ecowendes vision for utilising innovation and sustainable development in the construction of this wind farm and future wind farms.

Proeon are delivering engineering design and manufacture of the Wind Park Operator (WPO) network, utilising the latest in secure digital technology and industrial best practices. Systems include: power distribution, metering and ecology systems, for the WPO room at the offshore high voltage substation.

We bid farewell to our Founder and Technical Director Kevin Magee 👋 . After 20 years at the helm, Kevin is taking a well deserved break, a new chapter awaits him, whilst we here Proeon Systems Ltd. will miss him greatly, we will carry on with the legacy he has handed over to us. From the company’s humble beginnings in a garden shed in 2004, he has been instrumental in helping it evolve into a thriving multi-million-pound business, navigating the challenges of a competitive business climate, experiencing highs and lows along the way.   During 2024 we celebrate a milestone achievement - the company’s 20th Anniversary!

In  July 2022 Proeon became part of the RSK family of companies, we look forward to the next stage of the company’s evolution. 

And that's a wrap for June. Phew 😲 Round-up of participation in events for our Commercial Director Dr Dorian Hindmarsh and our Sales Manager Peter Lascelles , who have had a very busy time during june, participating in events in the UK and Europe. Looking forward to July.

On 4 July we had a Staff Lunch 20th Anniversary celebration, to reflect on the journey which has taken us to this milestone as a business. We had a barbecue lunch, in the sunshine, whilst mingling and chatting with colleagues, followed by some chocolate cake.to finish off our celebration.

We are extremely pleased to announce that during ACHEMA this week in Hamburg, Germany, Dr Dorian Hindmarsh our Commercial Director was invited to the event to receive, on behalf of Proeon, official PCS7 Partner Status with Siemens.

The presentation was given by Axel Lorenz, CEO Process Automation at Siemens AG together with Dr Ruth Flosdorff, Head of Global Partner Sales, Siemens Process Automation and Rihab Ehm, General Manager Process Automation, (Hydrogen/ Growth & Transformation / Automation/ Digitalization) Siemens.

Proeon Systems is celebrating its 20th Anniversary during 2024, which is a proud milestone for the business.

The RenewableUK Cyber Security Seminar 2004 took place from the dizzying heights of the 9th floor of Fieldfisher’s Riverbank House, overlooking the capital’s most famous river. 

Four guest speakers gave inspiring talks, spanning different elements of cyber security around renewable energy, each sharing their knowledge and experience on practical cyber security implementation for renewable energy projects.  Content included implementation and monitoring, considerations for the full cyber security lifecycle, supply chain risks, the rollout across Europe of the NIS2 Cyber Security Framework and what the UK's likely version might look like and concluded with an interesting overview of physical security and the cyber threat landscape.

On Friday 12 April, some of the Proeon team enjoyed an afternoon of relaxation and creativity.

We arranged for them to undertake an afternoon at a local pottery . The host Diana was a great teacher, very helpful and encouraging, despite the fact that some of us managed to develop lovely pots, only to see them suddenly fall apart on the wheel…. Clearly more tuition sessions might be needed.

All in all a lovely afternoon was had by all, good to step away from the office and do a fun activity together.

Standing up to Cyber threats isn’t just about building a taller, thicker, wall to defend against a marauding aggressor, peaking over the ever-increasing parapet builds a greater understanding of the types of threat.
