Proeon Systems and Prior Diesel collaborate to support the cost conscious operators in the North Sea
Specialist control systems company, Proeon Systems, has secured a significant order with Great Yarmouth based, Prior Diesel to support their latest project for four Cryogenic Nitrogen pumping systems.
This order is the most recent of a number of collaborations between the two companies to support cost effective operations in the North Sea by providing integrated complementary skills.
In the last few months, the companies have been providing service and maintenance call out services for diesel powered applications with high profile clients, on some of the most difficult of facilities in the inhospitable North Sea.
The current fall in energy prices has had a detrimental effect on offshore activity levels in the Oil & Gas sector with operators focusing on cost reduction in the long term maintenance of existing equipment.
Proeon Systems, with their head office in Norwich, are experts in the design, build and installation of bespoke Control systems including Fire & Gas, Gas Turbines, and Hazardous Area packages for the offshore industry in both renewables and traditional O&G sectors.
Prior Diesel, part of the Sure Tank Group, have bespoke Diesel Engine package development facilities in their Norfolk base and build a number of power applications, including LN2 Nitrogen Convertors, Fluid Pump, Coiled Tubing, Wireline, HPU’s and Power Generation units, which as Gordon Maclean Sales Director at Prior Diesel points out, makes them one of the Global leaders in diesel driven power Solutions.
Prior and Proeon together, offer the cost conscious operator; service, maintenance, minor updates and enhancements to control systems and diesel power systems to extend asset life and reduce the need to replace entire packages at great expense.
The current offshore business climate makes it attractive to implement cost saving features such as Remote Monitoring and Operation into legacy systems reducing the dependence on costly offshore site visits and improvements in reliability and productivity.
Kevin Magee, Proeon Systems, MD said:
“The skills and experience of both Proeon Systems and Prior Diesel provide a broad ability to support legacy equipment and in developing new solutions. By working together we enable North Sea operators to reduce costs – something that is becoming highly desirable.”
The collaboration means that operators will have an outlet for simple repairs through to complete autonomous and remote monitored installations on Diesel powered packages.
